Five Finger Death Punch Release New Song “Welcome to the Circus”

Like the release date of their next album Life after death approaches, Five Finger Death Punch released another new song called “Welcome to the Circus” and an accompanying preview video. This is the third song they released from the record, after the title track and “IOU”.

“Welcome to the Circus” serves as the opening track on the album, which will be released August 19 via Better Noise Music. It’s the first and only Life after death song the rockers performed live, as they debuted last month at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona, according to Setlist.fm.

Check out the song and its lyrics below.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory recently explained why the band decided to name the album Life after death in an interview with Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez.

“The reason we called it Life after death, Ivan [Moody] and I share some experiences that are usually private things that people don’t really talk about, but we’ve both had near-death experiences being on the other side,” the guitarist said.

“Ivan usually writes very personal lyrics anyway, if you read his lyrics from [The Way of the Fist], it’s an open book, it’s his life and his experiences. So everything is very personal, nothing is fictional. We’re not really talking about mythology or historical events, it’s all real, real events and real feelings that he has.”

Life after death serves as the band’s first record since their 2019 release F8. The self-titled track, which the group unveiled in April, became their 13th No. 1 single this week. A variety of editions of the album are available for purchase – pre-order your copy here now.

Five Finger Death Punch will hit the road in the United States to support Life after death this summer with Megadeth, The Hu and Fire From the Gods. The tour will begin on August 19 – the day the album is released – in Ridgefield, Washington, and will continue until mid-October. Get tickets on group website.

Five Finger Death Punch, “Welcome to the Circus” Lyrics

Welcome to the circus

Welcome to the shit show
Just another freak show
Hang your hat and hate on the door

It’s a torture game
Souls are made to order
Everything you wanted and more

You have to kill someone to move someone
Everyone has a reason to bleed
You have to fuck someone to know someone
That motherfucker ain’t me

Am I the only one
It does not accept lies

Am I the only one
That wears no disguise

‘Cause if I can’t break it
And I can’t change it
So tell me how will I know

Am I the only one
It’s not just here for show

Welcome to the Circus

Take your favorite stones
They came for broken bones
This is what happens when you connect on the line

There’s no need for excuses
everyone loses
The only way to win is to die

You gotta burn somebody to teach somebody
Everybody’s got a Jekyll and Hyde
You have to curse someone to hurt someone
Everybody needs a reason to die

Am I the only one
It does not accept lies

Am I the only one
That wears no disguise

‘Cause if I can’t break it
And I can’t change it
So tell me how will I know

Am I the only one
It’s not just here for show

Welcome to the Circus

You have to hide your face
Sell them what they bought cha
Teach them what they have taught each

You have to hide your veins
That’s how they empty cha
Right before they cut you

You have to hide your pain
Ugly how they rule you
That’s how they fuck you

You have to hide your rage
Everyone deserved this
Welcome to the circus

ticky ticky task
It’s time to burn the coffin
It’s time to burn this motherfucker down

Am I the only one
It does not accept lies

Am I the only one
That wears no disguise

‘Cause if I can’t break it
And I can’t change it
So tell me how will I know

Am I the only one
It’s not just here for show
