Will Smith have an interesting week. Just days after his Oscar slap Chris Rock went viral for all the wrong reasons, his name now being rejected as a potential contestant on Fox’s reality show “The Masked Singer.”
During the March 30 episode, as Hydra’s intro video aired for the first time, the panelist Ken Jeong announced that he was “getting a Will Smith vibe” from the three-headed monster. Why? Because there was a Miami theme to the villain’s clue package, complete with sand, beach balls, water skis, and roller coasters above the ocean. And one of Smith’s most popular songs happens to be called “Miami.”
Let me say for the record here and now: No, Ken! There’s exactly a 0% chance that Smith will secretly impersonate the Hydra on Fox singing competition series. Once again, Jeong proves why his nickname is “Dead Wrong Ken Jeong”.
When this episode of “The Masked Singer” was filmed weeks ago, the actor was in the middle of his ultimately successful Oscar campaign for the movie “King Richard.” Smith won the Best Actor award on March 27 for his role as Richard Williamsthe father of tennis greats Venus Williams and Serena Williams.
During Will Smith’s Oscars acceptance speech, he referenced his previous slap in the face of Chris Rock, saying, “I want to apologize to the academy. I look like the crazy dad, just what they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things… I hope the academy invites me back. A day later, Smith publicly apologized to Rock when he wrote on social media, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of place and I was wrong. I’m embarrassed and my actions weren’t indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

Here’s how Hydra introduced itself to the “TMS” audience on Wednesday night: “When you’ve been bad boys as long as us, you want flavor that lasts as long. Meet Triple Head Gum, the gum that ended our bad breath forever.Triple the freshness of regular mint gum and three times the flavor. With your best friends by your side, you can do whatever you want. But first make sure the fresh flavor is on the cards. Triple Head Gum, we bet you’ll eliminate bad breath immediately. Especially you, Ken.
Moments later, the three Hydra leaders performed their first song on the big stage: “Hey Soul Sister” by Form. The panelists then debated which real-life celebrities might be hiding inside the huge costume. Could it be the “Three Amigos”, aka Steve Martin, Martin runs and Chevy-Chase? Or what about those two grumpy Muppets, Statler and Waldorf? Actors of “The Big Lebowski” Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and Steve Buscemi were also named as possibilities.
