Makes us all happy and proud

There are a few days left until the end of Pride month. More and more artists are making us proud of their accomplishments and their contributions to making our world a happier and more tolerant place for all.

Actor, producer, philanthropist and businessman RS Francisco’s self-imposed break from show business that began during the pandemic may soon be over. He recently announced that there will be a major collaboration between his team at multi-level marketing empire FrontRow and AQ Prime, the newest player in the entertainment streaming circuit.

“We have thought about and laid the groundwork for these new projects, making sure we are ready before launching para pasabog talaga. I will be hosting Love or Lie at First Sigh, which is billed as the biggest and first ever Boy Love (BL) reality show starring Sachzna Laparan and the oh-so-hyper Rob Sy, and created by our director Afi Africa . And there will be more announcements in the coming days.

Francisco shared that he also misses acting for film and television, and who knows, something might already be brewing as he was recently spotted meeting with film industry leader Liza. Diño and the bosses of AQ Prime.

BIG, COURAGEOUS AND BOLD MARKKI

THE brave and handsome Markki Ströem continues to take on racy and risky projects that showcase his boldness and versatility. We were among the first group of guests to see Brillante Mendoza’s latest film, Virgin Forest, where Ströem plays the antagonist.

Known for being brave, bold and beyond stereotypes, Ströem showed off a lot of his beautiful skin in the film, letting go of all inhibitions. He is also happy to be part of the revival of the musical Mula sa Buwan, scheduled for a limited run from August to September at the Samsung Circuit Performing Arts Theater in Makati City.

Additionally, Ströem has spread its wings and recently launched its swimwear brand, MXXI. Man of the Philippines 2022 contestants wore Ströem’s designs for the duration of the contest in June.

REDEFINING CONVIVIALITY AT SHOWBIZ

ACTOR, Producer and Mister Congeniality Toni Co of showbiz divides his time between playing important and often funny characters in movies and engaging in live streaming activities and social media talk shows. Much appreciated by his multitude of friends from the world of cinema, he has just completed three films: Bakas ni Yamashita, Nabe and Sugat sa Dugo.

Co also got into the restaurant business recently, investing in an all-grill hangout he and his actor-magician business partner named Patuhog ni Ivan in Marikina City.

TELL OUR STORIES

MTV is currently focusing on local LGBTQ+ artists to read and respond to anonymous fan submissions on all things love throughout Pride Month, even through July. And one of the featured artists is our very own Jake Zyrus.

Zyrus, along with other proud artists, like K-pop singer Holland, Thai singer Pyra, Clinton Jerome Chua from Borneo, Malaysian band Shhh…Diam! and American pop star Hayley Kiyoko will show off the locks in a series of #MTVTellUs videos posted weekly on MTV Asia’s Instagram and YouTube channels.

“Catch this special edition of MTV Asia,” Zyrus shared, adding, “It’s not only a breath of fresh air, but it’s also insightful as we tell our stories.” Additionally, MTV Asia presents its LovingOutLoud playlist, the perfect soundtrack for Pride.

CHAMPION LGBTQ+ FILMS AND DOCUMENTARIES

The just-concluded PelikuLaya Film Festival is very personal to the President of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Liza Diño. “The struggles and challenges of the LGBTQ+ community continue, and I believe more dialogue and rhetoric is needed to help the community achieve the rights we want and have long fought for. Films are an important means of sending messages to the general public and to authorities, in particular to legislators. »

The festival featured films and documentaries from around the world, including two from the Philippines: Gameboys and Big Night.

Diño is married to musical artist Ice Seguerra, and their romance continues to inspire many. “Love wins. Always,” she reminded us.

THE INCREDIBLE GOOD HEART OF OGIE DIAZ

FUNNY man, social media hotshot, part-time actor, talent manager and family man, Ogie Diaz is indeed a rare breed. His good heart has been constantly bruised but he remains unfazed because kindness and generosity are innate in him.

Diaz recently made headlines when his longtime ward, actress Liza Soberano, decided to end their actor-manager relationship by signing with actor James Reid’s new company Careless Music.

Diaz took it all in stride by sharing that Soberano wanted more creative freedom and control in his career. “We parted ways amicably. I assured him that I am only a phone call away. I wish him the best on his new journey.

RS Francisco, Markki Ströem, Toni Co, Jake Zyrus, Liza Diño and Ogie Diaz are just a few of the many who continue to raise the colorful rainbow flag in their own unique way, with their exceptional strength and inspiring courage, to make this world a better, fairer and happier place. Happy Pride!
