OASIS immersion at the Palais des congrès de Montréal unveils its summer program

Original content, 100% Quebecois
According to OASIS immersion founders Nicolas lassonde and Denys Lavigne, who is also co-Creative Director, the audience response has been so favorable it deserves a refresh. “We launched our inaugural exhibition, Inspirationslast winter, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, the response was exceptional and the timing really lent itself to initiating our vision of a dynamic exhibition, permanently in tune with the times, talking about the challenges of the day for visitors. This development is also part of our objective to make OASIS immersion a permanent hub of creative production and innovation. An example is our partnership with the TV5 network for The Pacific Odyssey, which allows visitors to discover a multiplatform experience (documentary, paper, immersion) which allows them to fully discover the depth and impact of a story ”, explains Denys Lavigne.

“One of the things we are very proud of is that all segments of the exhibition are original productions and creations of local artists. And for the summer edition, many new talented contributors have joined our creative ecosystem, such as Guillaume Beaudoin, Studio Baillat, Vallée Duhamel, Dominique Fils-Aimé and Jean-Phi Gonçalves, without forgetting the pianist Alexandra Stréliski, astronaut of the Canadian Space Agency David Saint Jacques, young producer and YouTuber Émile Roy, and many others who have supported the project from the start “, mentions Nicolas lassonde.

Sea and space as sources of inspiration
Among the new OASIS immersion feature films this summer is an immersive experience inspired by the magnificent documentary The Pacific Odyssey and the book Fingerprints, the filmmaker and photographer Guillaume Beaudoin. The result of a unique collaboration with the TV5 network and Jean-François Ethier of the production company B-612, this experience also features the singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé and the music composer Manuel Chantre. From the Marquesas Islands to Fiji, passing through Bora-Bora and even Tahiti, the images captured by the filmmaker will transport you to majestic places, and will also lead you to reflect on the importance of preserving our oceans as precious sources of life and inspiration. The life-size sharks and the seabed scrolling before the eyes of visitors make the experience much more realistic and immersive. “We were very excited at TV5 to partner with OASIS immersion and push the limits of The Pacific Odyssey, a unique documentary available on our various platforms that offers a compassionate and inspiring look at the issue of the environment, ”explains Cynthia Rhéaume, communications manager at TV5.

After water, space. “We are dream dust” is one of many convincing observations by the Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint Jacques, as he takes visitors through the highlights of his space mission. Derived from his experiences, it is a journey through the cosmos and what prompted him to embrace space travel.

New ideas and societal changes
Other additions: Star producer and YouTuber Émile Roy is back with a fresh take on hope and resilience. The award-winning studio Vallée Duhamel also joined the adventure with a captivating hygge-inspired experience beautifully written by the music composer Jean-Phi Gonçalves.
