Pkew Pkew Pkew Announces New LP Made With Craig Finn, Shares “Maybe Someday”

Toronto Punks Pkew Pkew Pkew announced a new album, open barscheduled for May 13 via Dine Alone (Pre-order). It was produced by Jon Drew (Tokyo Police Club, Fucked Up, METZ) and directed with “songwriting accompaniment and support” from Craig Finn of The Hold Steadyand you can definitely hear some of The Hold Steady’s core rock in the heartbreaking debut single “Maybe Someday”.

“This song is about sharing a room with [guitarist] Ryan to save money on rent,” says lead singer Mike Warne. “It worked for a few months because we both stayed with our partners, but when Ryan’s fiancé moved to Edmonton, all of a sudden he was home all the time. video below.

Of the album as a whole, Mike continues, “As we didn’t have a deadline to finish, we felt a lot more free to take our time and mess around in the studio. Jon is the kind of producer who is willing to try anything, so we had a lot of fun playing with trumpets, old moog synths, glockenspiels.”

Pkew Pkew Pkew also opens part of Bouncing Souls‘ spring tour. All dates are listed below.
