Punk rock band X arrive at Pacific Amphitheater with Los Lobos and the Blasters – Orange County Register

Los Angeles punk rock band X will be heading to the OC Fair this summer.

The quartet – singer Exene Cervenka, singer / bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer DJ Bonebrake – will headline the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa on Sunday August 1 as part of the 2021 Toyota Summer Concert Series. Rock group East Los Angeles Los Lobos, which was originally scheduled to perform inside the Hangar at OC Fair on August 15, will now perform the Pacific Amphitheater show instead. Downey rock band the Blasters were also added to the lineup.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 29 at Ticketmaster.com. The ticket includes entry to the OC Fair.

After wrapping up her annual vacation tour in December 2019 with two sold-out shows at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, Surprise X released their first new album in 35 years, “Alphabetland,” on April 22. The album’s release also coincided with the 40th anniversary of X’s historic debut, “Los Angeles,” which was produced by the late Ray Manzarek of The Doors.

Since the world has been on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pacific Amphitheater show will be the first time songs from “Alphabetland” have been performed live, including “Goodbye Year, Goodbye” and “All the Time in the World, ”which features Doors guitarist Robby Krieger on the record.
