Take a First Look at Set and Costume Design for ART’s Broadway-Aimed 1776

The next revival of the Tony-winning musical begins performances at ART on May 17.

Co-presented by Roundabout Theater Company, the Broadway-bound revival of 1776 will begin performances at Cambridge’s American Repertory Theater on May 17. The show will then travel to Broadway, playing Roundabout’s American Airlines Theater in September.

Diane Paulus and Jeffrey L. Page co-direct the musical about the Founding Fathers. Page is also a choreographer. The production will also have stage design by Scott Pask, costume design by Emilio Sosa, lighting design by Jennifer Schriever, sound design by Jonathan Deans, projection design by David Bengali and hair design, wig and makeup by Mia Neal.

Davis as Thomas Jefferson, Mehry Eslaminia as Charles Thomson, Joanna Glushak as John Dickinson, Shawna Hamic as Richard Henry Lee, Eryn LeCroy as Martha Jefferson/Dr. Lyman Hall, Crystal Lucas-Perry as John Adams, Liz Mikel as John Hancock, Patrena Murray as Benjamin Franklin, Oneika Philliips as Joseph Hewes, Lulu Picart as Samuel Chase, Sara Porkalob as Edward Rutledge, Sushma Saha as Judge James Wilson, Brooke Simpson as Roger Sherman, Salome Smith as Courier, Sav Souza as Dr. Josiah Bartlett, Jill Vallery as Caesar Rodney, and Grace Stockdale and Imani Pearl Williams as alternates.

David Chase will serve as musical supervisor for the production, with Ryan Cantwell as musical director. The orchestrations are by John Clancy. AnnMarie Milazzo is the voice designer. Alfredo Macias is the production manager, and Genevieve Kersh and John Meredith are assistant managers. The casting is provided by Stephen Kopel. Brisa Areli Muñoz is Associate Director. Tamar Climan is the supervising producer.
