Metallica had just finished delivering a stunning two-hour headlining set to BottleRock Napa Valley on Friday, May 27.
Still, two of the band members – guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo – were far from done for the night.
Instead, Hammett and Trujillo would lead their other musical group — the increasingly legendary Wedding Band — through a two-set cover show at a BottleRock AfterDark concert at the JaM Cellars Ballroom in downtown Napa.
According setlist.fmthe Wedding Band opened the first set with a quadruple plan of The Clash – “London Calling”, “The Guns of Brixton”, “This Is Radio Clash” and “The Magnificent Seven” – then continued through Rick Derringer “Still Alive and Well”, “Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer and “Jungle Boogie” by Kool & the Gang.
They would also cover Black Flag’s ‘Rise Above’, The Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’, Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ and ‘Love Me Like a Reptile’, Dead Kennedys’ ‘California Uber Alles’ and Black Sabbath’s ‘Fairies Wear’. . Boots”, “War Pigs” and “Heaven and Hell”.
